Find us at BioWales in London this month

Biophys is a proud member of the independent Life Science Network for Wales, MediWales. Founded in 1992, working on behalf of the Welsh life science sector, they are a not-for-profit limited company helping to create opportunities, partnerships, supporting global trade development, improving access to clinical expertise and engaging with the government to increase support for the sector, all on behalf of its members. Their mission is the advancement of human life science in Wales.

This year, on Wednesday 9th March, they are running a showcase of Welsh life sciences and health technology organisations, BioWales in London. From 12noon until 6.30pm at the Blake Morgan offices there will be an opportunity to hear from biotechnology companies around Wales who have made significant developments around clinical innovation, medical device development and diagnostics. It’s the perfect opportunity to collaborate and like minded businesses and individuals and ties in with Wales Week in London.

The event will host presentations from the Welsh NHS with advice on engaging with clinicians to create opportunities for collaborations on clinical studies as well as an opportunity to network. Among the Welsh company showcases are some fantastic businesses including:

  • Midatech Pharma – a drug delivery technology company focused on improving bio-delivery and bio-distribution of medicines.
  • Jellagen – a marine biotechnology company manufacturing Collagen Type 0 for medical and scientific research applications.
  • Creo Medical – improving patient outcomes by applying Advanced Energy to the field of surgical endoscopy.
  • Glucose Republic – combining biology and software to help people eat and live better.

And of course, Biophys. Our presentation will be led by Dr Michael Graz who has over 25 years’ experience of commercial, research and teaching experience in the life sciences sector, including time spent in diagnostics and biotech. He has PhDs in Anatomy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, co-author on various drug development publications and holds joint inventorship on patents related to microbial control and diagnostics. Our presentation is an opportunity to learn more about Biophys, our work supporting biotechnology companies achieve their business goals and to prove that even with a modest team, our combined achievements around the globe really do speak for themselves.

We’d love to see you come along to BioWales in London, but if you can’t be there, take a look at our services or our map of the world where we have had significant input and various successful biotechnology partnerships.
