ESTABLISHED
1996
Biophys Ltd was born in South Africa in 1996 as a life sciences contract research organisation with the aim of raising the profile of early career researchers and generating funding for their research.
To do this, we provided microbiology, quality management, product development, and business management services to companies in the food processing, enzymes, and industrial chemicals industries.
After relocating to the UK in 2008, Biophys Ltd operated in a virtual capacity from the border of Wales and England. We have subsequently grown our footprint and since 2024 have had a laboratory in Cardiff at the Medicentre at University Hospital Wales. Global clients means we still also work virtually where necessary.
Over the years, Biophys Ltd has continued to reinvent itself and refine its service portfolio to biotechnology and healthcare partners in the life sciences across the world.
Growth is not negotiable and in 2024 we set up and opened our own Class 2 microbiology laboratory at the Cardiff Medicentre located at the University Hospital Wales. We continue to add to our technical and patient-centred expertise, but the model of applying our technical and commercial know-how to help life science businesses overcome product, service, and business challenges remains the same.
This focus on being a conduit for ground-breaking research remains at the heart of the company.
